RI dentist saves falcon's life
A peregrine falcon which was injured after flying into a window at Rhode Island Hospital had its life saved when dentist Rachael Gilardetti performed a procedure on the bird's broken beak. Gilardetti decided that using a dental-grade acrylic would be the best way to bond the beak. She said she often uses acrylic for building temporary crowns and repairing dentures. "I'm confident and comfortable with it," Gilardetti said. "It is a great material."
